This is the first WSM release in a few years and we’ve got more in the works. This song was inspired by both science and fiction.

This is the follow up to the self-titled EP by my solo project. I opted for a larger soundscape but there are still numerous sonic elements that are shared with the first album. This album is about how the artifacts and distortions of the past end up being viewed as desirable in the present.

Thanks to James Harding of Villainest for lending his ear when these songs had become too familiar to my own. 

I also want to thank my wife Lauren for her endless support and helping me find time to finish up this album amidst our foray into parenthood.

This album is for Mercer. Although the album is about looking back, he keeps me looking forward.

Tyler is an incredibly talented songwriter and he can really lay down a guitar solo, too. The songs on this album move effortlessly through various sounds and were an absolute pleasure to work on.

 

Rescued from the deep, dark recesses of my hard drive, this is an album that was a product of overseas collaboration with my good friend Hanmu. He would send me stripped down demos and trust me to build the songs up and push them further. Then life happened and the project was shelved for a number of years. I recently came upon the Logic files again and decided that these songs really needed to see the light of day. So here we are. I hope you enjoy them!

This new album from Mike Tea is a bit more rock oriented than his previous work. However, there is certainly a familiar perspective and sense of curiosity driving these songs. There is already a follow up album in the works, where  stylistically we’re taking things back (not all the way to 1870, but close).

This is a song about love and vaccine preventable diseases. We went for a vintage sound on this one; very happy with how it turned out!

Mike and I have been making music together for over a decade and it continues to be one of my all time favourite projects. This is our first release after something of a hiatus, but we’ve got lots more on the way.

This project started with my good friend Alex Aleksic and I trading lyric ideas while we were each off in foreign lands back in 2009. Feeling isolated while abroad afforded the opportunity to look back, both spatially and temporally. Consequently, these songs meander through memories of adolescence, aimless summers, and the sound of a car stereo in an empty field at midnight.

In the spirit of the album’s name, we have since resisted the temptation to pull these songs apart and reassemble them as though we had composed them now. There are many things we would do differently, but such is life. In the end, we tried our best not to rewrite a past that had already been rewritten.
